During September’s primary election, Henry won the Democratic nomination for New Castle County Executive over former New Castle County President Karen Hartley-Nagle, receiving just over 60% of the votes.

Republicans swept the local elections in Delaware County, with Indiana Representative Sue Errington being the only Democratic candidate to win a race in the county.

While incumbents reigned in state races in Delaware's southernmost county, the Sussex County Council will have not two but three new members come January. Democrat Jane Gruenebaum shook things up by taking the District 3 seat from incumbent Sussex County Councilman Mark Schaeffer.

Delaware voters are selecting their next governor, lieutenant governor and members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.
